Support group available for survivors

Hospice of the Foothills is offering a new bereavement support group especially for survivors of sudden and traumatic death.

If you are grieving the death of a loved one by heart attack, accident, suicide, homicide or any other sudden death cause, Hospice invites you to join this group and begin to gain strength and support from each other and from our professional staff.

Facilitated by Joanna Snider-Lipa, MSW, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with a private practice who has worked for Hospice of the Foothills for more than four years, and Heather Certik, MAS, who is new to Hospice of the Foothills but has worked as a grief counselor and chaplain with hospice in the Bay Area for more than 20 years.

The group will consist of 10 weekly sessions to be held on Tuesdays, from 5-6:30 p.m., May 2 through July 4. For more information, call 272-5739.
