Suburban Propane to hold community day in Grass Valley

Suburban Propane LP, a nationwide marketer and distributor of energy products, will partner with SPD Market to hold a community day from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the SPD Market and Kmart parking lots located on the 100 block of West McKnight Way in Grass Valley.

The event will focus on raising money for local nonprofit groups through donations and group activities, such as a raffle.

KNCO Radio will air a live broadcast from the event, while providing SPD Market commercial radio spots for their listeners.

Comcast video will also be in attendance filming a commercial to run in the Grass Valley and Lake of the Pines cable networks.

Nonprofit organizations from around the area will also participate in the fundraising event including Grass Valley Veterans, American Legion, and the Home Town Hero Project. Nevada Union High School student groups, such as the football team, band, water polo team, volleyball team and FFA club, will be in attendance seeking donations and participating in the event as well.

Suburban Propane will hold a barbecue at the event for all participating organizations and individuals willing to donate to those organizations at the community day.

Every donation of $1 or greater will receive a free Suburban Propane reusable grocery bag, and donations of $6 or more will receive a free barbecue cylinder fill on location, with a limit of two free fills per family.
