In response to the losses from the March 20 Nevada City fire by two families with students at Nevada City School of the Arts, the NCSA student council set up a jog-a-thon fund-raiser. Almost every student in grades two through seven collected pledges for their run or walk around the pond behind the school.

On Friday, 150 students and many teachers ran or walked for an hour. They ran between eight and 22 laps, raising more than $4,600 in pledges, which will be split evenly between the two families.
