Students perform award-winning skit

Students of Magnolia Intermediate School forming the Odyssey of the Mind team presented skits Tuesday evening at the Pleasant Ridge Union School District meeting in Grass Valley. There were three performances, one of which won an award recently at a competition in Poland.

The prize-winning skit called “The Jungle Bloke” dealt with environmental problems in the Amazonia. Students created their own costumes and props, and sang and danced as part of the play.

Parents and members of the board of Trustees of the Pleasant Ridge Union School District were present at the performance that took place in the parking lot of the James W. Meshwert Building on Kingston Lane.

At the end of the performance, which was loudly applauded by the audience, students who went to Europe were asked to comment on their trip. While some talked about memorable sightseeing experiences – mostly in England – others elaborated on their enjoyable interaction with students from various nations at the competition.
