State of county lunch set for May 19

The Nevada County Business Association’s luncheon presentation will be held at the Holbrooke Hotel at 11:45 a.m. May 19.

This presentation, the 2006 Annual State of the County, Cities and Town, is where the mayor of the city of Grass Valley, Gerard Tassone, the mayor of the city of Nevada City, Conley Weaver, the mayor of the town of Truckee, Beth Ingalls, and the Chairman of the Nevada County Board of Supervisors, Ted Owens, will be reporting on the state of their respective jurisdictions. As well, the candidates for Superior Court Judge, District Attorney, and the Board of Supervisors have been invited and will be introduced at the event.

This luncheon is an opportunity for members of staff to gain useful information about the issues that our communities and elected officials face. These issues include those about traffic, buisness retention, safety, development proposals, and jobs-housing balance.

Attending the luncheon costs $15 per person. All attendees must make reservations through Jennifer Vendley at jennifer@scopeinc.net. She can also be reached by telephone at 272-5841 x. 13 or by fax 272-5880. You can also directly email James Mesgwert at jmeshwert.nccn.net, subject “MCBA Luncheon.”
