Stars come out for night of celebration

The Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation held its 16th annual “Starry Starry Nights” fundraiser at the Empire Mine State Historic Park this past weekend.

The hospital is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and all proceeds from the event benefited programs and services there.

Nearly 300 people attended the sold-out event, which included dinner by candlelight, dancing and stargazing from telescopes provided by the Newtonian Reflectors.

The guests were dressed in white to help recreate a scene out of the “Great Gatsby” era.
