Stakeholder input sought on bicycle and pedestrian projects

Formed in 2011, the Accessible Transportation Coalition Initiative/Mobility Action Partners Coalition hopes to improve mobility by encouraging the planning and construction of bicycle and pedestrian facilities in western Nevada County.

The group has been reaching out to stakeholders interested in participating in a working group that will review the 2013 Nevada County Bicycle Master Plan and the 2011 Nevada County Pedestrian Improvement Plan (http://www.nctc.ca.gov/Reports/Pedestrian—Bicycle-Reports/index.html), and work to develop recommendations for desired pedestrian and bicycle transportation-related projects in the county.

The recommendations will be forwarded to the jurisdictions for their consideration. Interested members of the public are welcome to participate.

The first meeting is set for 1-3 p.m. on April 10 in the Providence Meeting Room B at the Eric Rood Administrative Center, 950 Maidu Ave., Nevada City. The meeting seeks to review the 2013 Bicycle Master Plan and recommend projects for Nevada County, Grass Valley, and Nevada City.
