Spearhead show sells out

Michael Franti (above) and his group Spearhead performed political and socially conscious songs nonstop from 9:30 p.m. to midnight Wednesday before a packed house at Center for the Arts in Grass Valley. By 9:15 p.m., potential ticketholders were turned away, as about 400 fans were already in the building. Wednesday marked the San Francisco hip-hop group’s third performance at the center since December 2000. The group headlined the inaugural Renegade Festival at Rollins Lake last September.
