In order to participate, shoppers simply visit their SPD Market, pick up a SPD Community Card, and register the card to support their local school or nonprofit. The cards are free, and can be registered at the store. Once registered, every time the SPD Community Card is provided at the checkout at either of the two SPD stores, 3 percent of the total grocery bill will be contributed to the customer’s designated school or nonprofit organization.
