Solo crash sends Nevada City man to Roseville hospital

An 89-year-old Nevada City man remains in stable condition after a solo accident Sunday morning in Chicago Park.

Hugh Fielder was driving a Toyota Camry on Highway 174 just before 7 a.m. when he lost control on a curve, said California Highway Patrol spokesman Greg Tassone.

Fielder drove off the road and impacted several trees on the driver’s side of the car.

He was flown to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where he was in stable condition as of Tuesday afternoon.

Drugs or alcohol are not believed to have been factors in the accident, Tassone said.
