Sierra Writers kick off new season with ‘Welcome Back from Summer’

Sierra Writers will kick off the fall season with the theme “Welcome Back from Summer.” The celebratory meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8 in the Community Room at the Madelyn Helling Library in Nevada City.

According to Lucinda Porter, coordinator for this meeting, Sierra Writers’ new board members will be introduced and members will relate their summer writing adventures. A discussion will follow on the future of the organization and plans to continue supporting writers in all phases of their writing careers, as it has done since 1982.

Just for fun, there will be refreshments and a writing exercise. Free raffle tickets will be given to all members who attend the meeting. The public is welcome; anyone who joins Sierra Writers before the raffle will be eligible for prizes.

Ms. Porter reminds everyone to “Bring paper, pen and your writers mind. Let’s network and support each other’s craft.”
