Sierra roadwork schedule for Nov. 2-7
Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Brace Road to Magra Road: Work continues on a $36 million project to increase the vertical clearance of nine bridge structures in south Placer County to 16 feet, 6 inches. The vertical clearance will be increased on seven structures by lifting the existing bridge deck and the other two will have the roadway below dug down. Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Sierra College Boulevard to Newcastle Road: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures and on-ramp closures from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday through Saturday for bridge work. Motorists also can expect one-way traffic control from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday on the Brace, Gilardi, Horseshoe Bar, King, Penryn and Magra overcrossings for bridge work.
State Route 89 (Placer/Nevada County) at the Union Pacific Railroad undercrossing south of Interstate 80: Nicknamed the “Mousehole” project, work continues to construct a pedestrian and bicycle tunnel under the Union Pacific Railroad adjacent to the existing SR 89 undercrossing and construct a Class I paved trail along the east side of SR 89 between Deerfield Drive and West River Street.
State Route 89 (Placer/Nevada County) from West River Street to Deerfield Drive: No traffic interfering work scheduled for this week.
Interstate 80 — Eastbound (Nevada County) at the Truckee River Acid Flat Bridge: Motorists can expect one way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday for guardrail repair.
Interstate 80 — Westbound (Nevada County) at the Farad Undercrossing: Motorists can expect right lane and right shoulder closure from 9 a.m. to noon today for guardrail repair.
Interstate 80 — Eastbound (Nevada County) from the Farad undercrossing to the Sierra County line: Motorists can expect right lane and right shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday for guardrail repair.
Interstate 80 — Westbound (Nevada County) from Floriston to the end of the Chain On Area: Motorists can expect right lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday for guardrail repair.
State Route 49 (Sierra County) from Oak Valley Road (Yuba/Sierra County line) to Yuba Pass: Motorists can expect intermittent one way traffic controls from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. today through Friday for miscellaneous work.
State Route 89 (Nevada County) from Prosser Dam Road to Sage Hen Road: Motorists can expect one way traffic controls from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. today through 2 p.m. Friday for AC paving work.
State Route 174 — Eastbound (Nevada County) from Oak Street to Gold Hill Drive: Motorists can expect right shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Friday for utility work.
State Route 174 (Nevada County) from Hwy 20/Front Road to Ophir Street: Motorists can expect overnight one way traffic controls and right shoulder closures from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. today through 5 a.m. Saturday for utility work.
