Shuttle Sunday for Constitution Parade

Free parking will be available at the Rood Center and a shuttle costing $1 will be available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday for Constitution Day celebrations in Nevada City.

The shuttle from the county government center off Highway 49 and Maidu Avenue, north of town, will be free to anyone wearing a historical costume and for youth younger than 18.

Sunday events include:

– Pancake breakfast 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Pioneer Park, on Nimrod Street in Nevada City.

– Exhibit of a full-scale replica of the 1864 Confederate submarine SS Hunley, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Pioneer Park.- Civil War re-enactment at 11 a.m.

– Civil War skirmish re-enactment at 11 a.m. at Pioneer Park.

– Music by the Nevada County Concert Band, 12:30 p.m., Broad Street, downtown Nevada City.

– Re-enactment of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, 1:30 p.m., Broad Street in front of the National Hotel.

– Parade, 2 p.m., Broad Street.
