Showers possible today for Nevada County

Dry Nevada County could get refreshment today as a building weather system moves in from the Pacific Ocean.

The National Weather Service in Sacramento is predicting cloudy skies and a 40-percent chance of showers after 11 a.m. Winds from the south and southeast will be up to 10 mph, with daytime highs in the 60s dropping to a low around 47 tonight.

Thundershowers are possible through tonight.

Once that front moves through, partly cloudy skies are expected to return Sunday with highs in the low 60s. Skies will be mostly clear by Sunday night, with lows in the mid-40s.

Monday is predicted to bring back sunny skies and temperatures in the 60s, with milder weather forecast for the rest of the week.

There is a chance of rain Tuesday night.

High temperatures will dip into the upper 50s Wednesday and Thursday, with partly cloudy skies and lows in the upper 30s.
