Sheriff’s Office: Lamphier investigated for alleged possession of child pornography

Nevada County District 3 Supervisor Terry Lamphier is the subject of an investigation pertaining to the alleged possession of child pornography on county-owned computers, according to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office.

In response to a joint public records request filed by The Union and YubaNet.com, sheriff’s office officials released an Internet browser history that was allegedly discovered on Lamphier’s computer. That history included websites with inapporopriate photographs depicting girls between 6-10 years of age. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal declined to answer questions over whether the girls were shown as engaged in sexual acts.

Lamphier has not been arrested or charged in connection with the investigation. The Union has been unable to reach him for comment.
