The Senior Citizens Foundation of Western Nevada County will be host to the second annual Artists and Authors Garden Party at noon Oct. 6, in a garden off Allison Ranch Road in Grass Valley.

The $25 donation for a ticket includes a variety of appetizers, desserts and wine tasting.

Entertainment will be musical performances and literary readings. Local artists will display their works and be available for silent auction. John Deaderick will be master of ceremonies.

Doc Dachtler will read selections from his forthcoming book. Larry Ilg and Donna Hanelin will also give readings. Celtic and original music will be provided by Kindred Spirit, Lisa Stine, Maggie McKaig and Shawn Haussler.

Proceeds will benefit the programs operated by the foundation, the Lutz Center Adult Day Services, High Noon Senior Nutrition (Meals on Wheels), the Grass Valley Senior Center and North Gold Senior Mountaineers in North San Juan.

Tickets are on sale at the Senior Center at 273-4961 and Lutz Center at 273-6581. They include the address of the event.
