Senior yoga therapy classes start Friday

A four-week series of classes in yoga therapy for seniors begins 3:30 p.m. Friday at Dragonfly Yoga Studio, 17328 Penn Valley Drive, Penn Valley.

The classes, taught by certified yoga therapist Bob Ash, are designed to be suitable for all levels and abilities.

The cost is $12 per session or $40 for the series.



“Our goal is to introduce participants to the benefits of yoga and yoga therapy as it applies to conditions affecting the senior community,” Ash said.

“Even if you have never attended a yoga class in the past, this series will increase your energy, lift your spirits and improve overall health.”




The schedule is as follows:

— Friday: “Yoga for Seniors: An Introduction”

— Aug. 21: “Yoga therapy for Bone Strength”

— Aug. 28: “Yoga therapy for a Health Heart”

— No class Sept. 4

— Sept. 22: “Introduction to Meditation”
