Body Balance Academy will conduct a self-defense seminar next week.

The seminar is being offered in response to the alleged sexual assault on a woman who was opening up her workplace on the 500 block of Searls Avenue, in the Seven Hills District of Nevada City, early in the morning on Oct. 6.

The seminar, which aims to teach people of all ages and skills to defend themselves, will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Nov. 6, at Body Balance Academy, 151 Mill St., downtown Grass Valley. Cost is $35.

Body Balance teaches kung fu and tai chi.
