Self-defense class for women, girls

To honor domestic violence awareness month, the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Coalition and Gold Country Kuk Sool Won Martial Arts School are offering a free four-hour self-defense workshop Saturday for women and girls.

The focus of the class is on awareness and safety as well as information on domestic violence and relationships, said Jane Lee of the DVSAC.

The class will be taught by instructor Lila Reyna 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 27 at Gold Country Kuk Sool Won Martial Arts School, 127 Argall Way in Nevada City. Women and girls ages 8 and older are welcome.

If you would like to attend, call the DVSAC at 272-2046.

The coalition’s 24-hour hotline is also available at 272-3467.
