Scooter’s Pals opening thrift store

Scooter’s Pals, an all-volunteer, all-breed, last-chance dog (and a few cats) rescue, is opening a vintage thrift store to help rescued animals.

The store will be open six days a week by Dec. 1 at 139 Joerschke Drive in Grass Valley (next to Hertz Rent-a-car).

Scooter’s Pals needs good-quality items to sell — gently used or new but not all used up.

No large furniture, especially no mattresses or couches, can be donated because the store has limited space; small appliances must be working, and clothes must be in very good shape. All jewelry and antiques are very appreciated.

Scooter’s Pals is open all day Wednesdays to accept drop-off, or email if you need to meet another day with an appointed time.

If you have good items and cannot deliver them, then call, and if they are small- to medium-sized items, the organization can make an appointment and pick up items. Call 530-350-2099, email or come by between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesdays to deliver your donations.

Donations will help pay vet bills, medications, collars and leashes, food and more for rescues on their way to a good forever home. No one at Scooter’s Pals take a salary or personal expenses.
