At 9 a.m. Saturday, the Roamin Angels will kick off its annual Toy Drive at the Kmart parking lot on McKnight Way in Grass Valley, with a flag-raising by the Boy Scouts and the Veterans Honor Guard.

At about 9:45 a.m., Santa will arrive by fire truck, escorted by a line of hot rods and classic cars. He will be there for the rest of the event to listen to the children’s requests for Christmas gifts, handing out the traditional candy canes.

There will also be artists creating balloon animals and airbrush tattoos for the kids and kids-at-heart. Free donuts, popcorn, BBQ hot dogs, water, coffee, and hot chocolate will be provided for all. There will be a raffle for prizes donated by local merchants, as well.

All this and the mini-car show are put on by the Roamin Angels, so that people will bring unwrapped toys and donations to help those in the community who otherwise would not have a Christmas this year. Working with the Salvation Army, the Roamin Angels will provide needy families with toys and necessities this holiday season and need your help to do it.
