Roadwork slated for the Sierra this week

Sierra roadwork scheduled for Dec. 8-14.

Long-term projects



Interstate 80 (Placer and Nevada Counties) from Carpenter Flat to Hampshire Rock: Work continues on the $105 million Emigrant Gap project on Interstate 80. Work includes total roadway replacement with Portland Cement Concrete, improving the drainage systems and installing new sediment/debris collection systems. This project is now complete




Short-term projects

State Route 20 (Nevada and Yuba Counties) from Gold Mooney Flat Road to Upper Smartsville Road: Motorists can expect the eastbound #2 lanes close from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.

State Route 49 (El Dorado and Placer Counties) from State Route 193 in Cool to the Bear River Bridge: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

State Route 49 (Placer County) from Elm Avenue to Lincoln Way: Motorists can expect the north and southbound #2 lanes closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.

State Route 49 (Placer County) from Cottage Drive to the Nevada County line: Motorists can expect intermittent north and southbound #2 and shoulders closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada and Placer Counties) from Yuba Gap to Cisco Grove: Motorists can expect intermittent lane and ramp closures from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do electrical work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from State Route 193 to Gold Run: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane closures from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

State Route 174 (Placer County) from Interstate 80 to the Nevada County line in Colfax: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous work.

State Route 174 (Nevada County) from Park Street to State Route 49 in Grass Valley: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous work.
