On Wednesday, Rik Augustin will perform music from his third CD, “In My Own Words” in concert at The Center for the Arts in Grass Valley.

Augustin has performed since he was a youngster, from his television debut at age 12 to clubs, concerts, stage productions, and entertaining the troops during his U.S. Army tour of duty.

Augustin has been a regular on stage in Nevada County including appearances with Sierra Stages, in musicals and as a regular cast member at the Bouzy Rouge dinner theater. He released his first album, “For the First Time,” and followed with a 2011 release, “Time to Remember,” featuring arrangements by Jerry Grant and production by Paul Kraushaar.

“I’ve always loved music, art, and horses. Spinal issues kept me off the stage for several years, but after full recuperation I was thrilled to be cast in a production of ‘My Fair Lady.’ People starting asking if I had any recordings available, so I decided to begin work on an album featuring Broadway and other songs,” said Augustin.

While working with Paul Kraushaar on his third recording project, they began a collaboration. The result is the new CD, “In My Own Words,” a collection of original songs.

Those songs and others will be performed at the Wednesday CD release concert at The Center for the Arts. The show will feature a live band and special guest artists.

Augustin also achieved major success as a fine artist creating classical paintings and sculptures of horses. His works can be found in art collections worldwide.
