Reports of smoke from vegetation fire in South Nevada County

Firefighters fought a vegetation fire in South Nevada County early Tuesday morning, reportedly near Karen Drive off Lime Kiln Road east of Highway 49.

According to safety officials, the fire was between a quarter acre to half acre as of 3 a.m. Tuesday, sending the smell of smoke across South County, although firefighters were expected to have the fire under control.
