Reno man critical after solo crash on Highway 20

A Reno man is in critical condition after a solo vehicle accident Wednesday night.

Glenn McFadden, 65, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer westbound on Highway 20 just east of Sun Ridge Court just before midnight, according to a release from the California Highway Patrol.

McFadden’s Blazer drifted to the right and slightly onto the shoulder, and he then over-corrected to the left, losing control of his vehicle. McFadden then crossed over the eastbound lanes onto the south gravel shoulder, then hit a tree and down a steep slope. The Blazer eventually came to rest on his wheels, facing in an easterly direction, the CHP report said.

McFadden was extricated from his vehicle and reportedly sustained moderate injuries to his face, neck, hands and back. He was flown to Sutter Roseville Medical Center; a hospital spokeswoman said he was in critical condition as of Friday afternoon.
