Legal Services of Northern California provides free legal assistance to Nevada County residents age 60 or older. These services include legal information, advice, assistance with completing legal forms and documents, and certain limited types of legal representation.

Around here, KARE stands for Kid’s Assistance and Respite in Emergencies – providing emergency services and respite day care for children from birth through 5 years of age during times of stress for their families.




The Kare Crisis Nursery will hold it’s third annual Wild West Kasino Night from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at Miner’s Foundry Cultural Center, 25 Spring St., Nevada City .

The event features a professional casino, delicious food, live entertainment, a silent auction – and starts with a short musical melodrama.

Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 at the door, and can be purchased at BriarPatch Market, JJ Jacksons, or through the nursery web site at KareCrisisNursery.org.

Soroptimist:

Ticket sales start in March for the Sierra Foothills garden tour, hosted by our local chapter of Soroptimist International. The tour is May 22 and 23.
