Would you like to help Music in the Mountains raise some dough? Just come and play golf!

The group’s annual golf tournament fundraiser will start at 1 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Lake Wildwood Golf Course. The $125 entry fee includes 18 holes, a cart, range balls, a tee prize, lunch, dinner, snacks and drinks.

An awards banquet and a silent and live auction will take place afterward.

As part of the tournament, hundreds of golf balls will be dropped from a height of 55 feet on the golf course. If your number happens to be on the ball that falls closest to or into a hole, you could win $500.

Altar show coming

If you’re interested in participating in the annual “Altar Show – A Day of Remembrance” at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in October, you must attend one of the two meetings for the show at 6 p.m. Thursday or at 3 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Northern Mines Building at the fairgrounds.

All applications and fees are due on or before Sept. 13.

The 11th annual Altar Show will take place from Oct. 26 through Nov. 4 at the Northern Mines Building at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. The show is inspired by the traditional Mexican Day of the Dead celebrations on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2.
