Raising awareness about single-payer health care

I wish to thank the community for the support given our organization at the recent Nevada City Farmers Markets on Saturday mornings.

We are the local chapter of the statewide organization, and trying to bring information and awareness to the community about legislation at the state level SB840, and the federal legislation HR676, that will provide single-payer health care to all.

On Sept. 20, we will be holding a silent art auction at Seaman’s Lodge, Nevada City, in conjunction with the South Yuba River Citizens League’s 25th anniversary celebration. All the fine art is being donated by California artists both locally and statewide. All the funds generated will go toward informing and making the general public aware concerning a single-payer health care system. Please come and support this effort.

Our local chapter meets every third Thursday in room 110 at the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. Please join us to help forward this very important project. Our current health care system is broken, and it will take the efforts of everyone to make health care available and affordable to all Californians.
