Program helps pay low-income rent

The Nevada County Housing Authority will open the waiting list for Section 8 Rental Assistance Tuesday, March 5.

The program helps low-income households pay the rent.



To be eligible for Section 8 Rental Assistance, a household’s gross annual income must be at or below the following guidelines: one person, $17,900; two people, $20,450; three people, $23,000; four people, $25,550; five people, $27,600; six people, $29,650; seven people, $31,700; and eight people, $33,750.




Waiting list applications will be available Tuesday.

Applicants may request an application be sent by calling 265-1388, or applications may be picked up at Nevada County Housing and Community Services, Rood Administrative Center, 950 Maidu Ave., Nevada City.

Completed applications and supporting verifications will be accepted by mail or hand delivery on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m at the above address.
