Probation violation hearing rescheduled

A probation violation hearing in Sacramento for a man accused of siphoning funds from a Grass Valley office project was canceled Tuesday.

The next federal court hearing for Harvey Keith Smith, 76, of Alta Sierra, is slated for June 11, on the status of the embezzlement case.

Smith was arrested March 20 on suspicion that he violated federal probation by diverting funds from the Grass Valley Community Service Center on Hughes Road.
