Probation officers endorse Beason

The Nevada County Probation Peace Officers Association has endorsed Nate Beason in the District 1 county supervisor primary campaign.

It is the third endorsement by a public safety group for Beason, 60, a retired naval officer who lives in Nevada City. Earlier, he got the nod from the local chapter of the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association and Nevada County Professional Firefighters Local 3800.

In a press release, the Probation Peace Officers Association said that Beason’s background and “concerns over maintaining the current level of public safety we enjoy . . . should be recognized by the voters.”

Beason’s opponents in the March 2 primary are Olivia Diaz of Cascade Shores and Josh Ramey of Peardale.
