Private wine tastings support art show

Have you thought about having a private wine tasting for six or eight of your friends? Picture leisurely sipping wine in a quaint Grass Valley tasting room with delicious hors d’oeuvres from a great local restaurant.

Now is your chance. The Northern Mines Art Exhibit artists’ reception this Sunday will raffle off private wine tastings for you and your friends at Sierra Starr, Smith Vineyards, Lucchesi or the Grass Valley Wine Company. Hors d’oeuvres are provided by Cirino’s, Sergio’s and Tofanelli’s.

Not a wine-o-phile? There will be additional raffle items for the more artful soul:

• A two-day painting class with award-winning artist David Mooney.

• A private three-hour watercolor session with internationally known watercolorist Mim Meakin.

• A special photo session with Dreamspinners Photography in Grass Valley, valued at $125.

• 500 full-color business cards from Into Ink Printing with a photo reproduction on one side and your contact information on the other.

Raffle winners will be announced at the Northern Mines art reception. Get tickets early so you don’t miss the opportunity to win one of these special and unique prizes. Tickets cost two for $5 and five for $10 and can be purchased at the reception at The Center for the Arts on Oct. 24. They can also be purchased in advance by calling (530) 265-8405.

The more tickets you buy, the better your chances to win. All funds from the raffle go to support the show costs and artists’ prizes. You need not be present to win.
