Print, borrow and spend

Print, borrow and spend – it’s the new American way.

Whistling past the graveyard getting richer every day.

Don’t bother me with facts, my friend, we are on our way.

Print, borrow and spend – it’s a new American day.

We used to care more about the poor, the people who did not know.

That was awhile back when America had more soul.

We used to care for those who were not as rich as we.

We did not steal from them with borrowed and printed currency.

We did not take for open space the pittance they called their own.

We did not sell their children for health care we cannot afford.

The teacher points the way.

We cannot take what we do not own.

Stealing from the future

Will leave us crippled and lone.

How can there be a party

A gigantic jubilee

That goes on and on forever

For those as weak as we?

Time has come and it has gone

Along with our freedom and prosperity.

Leaving us languishing in bankruptcy and tyranny.

A new world is dawning.

A brave new world where everyone can see

The mistakes we made on the road to honesty.

Print, borrow, spend –

It’s the new American way.

Print, borrow ,spend

To the very, very end.
