POW/MIA tribute planned in Colfax

As the U.S. continues its war in Afghanistan, a tribute is planned for all American soldiers who served as prisoners of war or are listed as Missing in Action on the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

At 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, the Colfax Jess E. Taylor Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2003 is hosting a public tribute for imprisoned and missing soldiers at the Colfax Theater on 49 S. Main St. in Colfax.

Included in the anniversary commemoration will be an Open House display of the Post and Auxiliary historical information and military artifacts from local members and others, a luncheon, patriotic music from the Lyrical Locos, and a showing of the film, “Taking Chance.”

Leonard Lincoln, an American WWII pilot who was shot down over Germany and taken as a prisoner of war, is expected to recount his experiences.
