Political cartoon over the top

I take umbrage at the political cartoon in The Union (“Ideas and Opinions,” Oct. 26). I don’t object to political cartoons in general, in fact, many are quite humorous.

However, just as political correctness and mud-slinging has gone over the edge in this election year, so have the political cartoons, this one from the Boston Herald.

It infers that the Republicans created the Tea Party “monster” that is about to devour the Democrats (depicted as a T-Rex, and entitled “Tea-Rex”).  This simply shows the arrogance and/or ignorance of many who won’t really look and can’t confront what the Tea Party is actually made up of – millions of U.S. citizens who do not like what is going on in our government and country and want a return to the Constitution and the values that made America great.

The Tea Party was not created by, nor is it led by the Republicans or any other political party.

This is a real grass-roots movement of the people, by the people and for the people, and may our right of redress never perish from the earth.
