Police blotter: Woman reports irate crankster on a swing

Grass Valley Police Department

Tuesday

8:54 a.m. — A woman from the 300 block of South Auburn Street reported a woman was refusing to leave and pushed her. She was found sleeping on a swing and became irate when confronted, then left. She looked like a “crankster.”



8:57 a.m. — A man from the 500 block of Ivy Street reported vandalism to a vehicle.

9:44 a.m. — A caller from a business in the 100 block of Joerschke Drive reported receiving a bad check.




10:11 a.m. — A caller reported a neighbor growing marijuana. The people contacted were in compliance with their recommendations.

10:38 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Colfax Avenue reported a burglary. No burglary was found; old food and trash were found, possibly belonging to transients sleeping on the property. The items were discarded/

10:55 a.m. — A caller from the 1900 block of Nevada City Highway reported a man carrying a garbage bag was calling people names and trying to fight with elderly people in the parking lot. He could not be located.

11:07 a.m. — A caller from a business in the 500 block of East Main Street requested extra patrols due to transients sleeping behind the building.

2:59 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of North Church Street reported interrupting a residential burglary, with a woman leaving on foot. She was arrested on suspicion of burglary and vandalism.

4:57 p.m. — A caller from Lucas Lane and Race Street reported a man punched a fish tank and was “bleeding out” from a hand laceration. He was taken to the hospital.

6:59 p.m. — A caller reported drug activity and requested extra patrols.

7:45 p.m. — A caller from the 900 block of Amber Loop reported finding a syringe.

9:14 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of School Street reported someone tried to get into a yard by putting a chair up and jumping over a fence.

9:58 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Olympia Park Road reported a man making a drug deal in the parking lot; he was gone when an officer arrived.

10:14 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Freeman Lane reported a vehicle drove over an embankment. A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and violating probation.

10:21 p.m. — A caller from Sutton Way reported a person in a truck possibly making drug deals.

11:48 p.m. — A caller from Bennett Street and Kidder Avenue reported a vehicle accident with the driver leaving the scene. A woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit and run.

Wednesday

1:51 a.m. — A man from Race Street reported a fight. A man was arrested on suspicion of spousal abuse.

6:03 a.m. — A caller from a business in the 800 block of East Main Street reported a man passed out in a bathroom stall. He was moving on.

6:52 a.m. — A caller from the 1900 block of Nevada City Highway reported a man was smashing up a car.

8:32 a.m. — A woman from the 17000 block of Indian Valley Trail reported receiving a suspicious phone call from someone saying they were from NCSO and she had a warrant.

9:15 a.m. — A man from the 15000 block of Duggans Road reported an unlocked vehicle had been rifled through, but nothing was taken.

10:03 a.m. — A man from the 14000 block of Peaceful Meadow Lane reported receiving phone calls from someone impersonating the Sheriff’s office.

11:12 a.m. — A woman from the 11000 block of Alta Sierra Drive reported a dog attacked her and her dog.

11:17 a.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Annie Drive reported trespassers with quads.

12:27 p.m. — A caller from Justice Court requested a welfare check on skinny goats; they appeared fine.

1:59 p.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of La Barr Meadows Road reported the theft of a jewelry box.

2:14 p.m. — A caller reported identity theft.

2:22 p.m. — A caller from Nugget lane reported the theft of jewelry.

3:35 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Sun Forest Drive reported the theft of gas cans.

3:47 p.m. — A woman from the 23000 block of La Costa Court reported someone cut phone lines.

4:37 p.m. — A caller from Highway 49 and the Yuba River reported the theft of a Jeep Liberty.

5:24 p.m. — A caller from the 18000 block of Highway 49 reported a residential burglary.

8:57 p.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Inyokern Way reported an assault; no charges were desired.

10:45 p.m. — A caller from the 31000 block of Relief Hill Road reported a woman screaming. An argument was reported, and no charges were desired.

10:50 p.m. — A caller from the 20000 block of Oak Tree Road reported hearing four or five gunshots.

Wednesday

12:20 a.m. — A caller from Western Gateway Park reported a man broke a vehicle windshield and dented it multiple times. A BOLO was issued for the suspect.

1:10 a.m. — A caller from the 20000 block of Wildwood West Drive reported a loud party.

9:13 a.m. — A caller from Seven Hill School reported vandalism.

4 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Commercial Street reported vandalism.
