Police blotter: Variety of phone scams reported

Grass Valley Police Department

Thursday

7:49 a.m. — A caller from South Auburn Street and Stacey Lane reported a transient camp with people living under a giant bush. They were moving on.



9:09 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Mill Street reported transients and after-school drug activity.

9:32 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Success Mine Loop reported a phone scam with people claiming to be from the IRS and threatening the caller with arrest.




9:46 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Colfax Avenue reported a possible squatter.

9:56 a.m. — A caller from the 400 block of LaMarque Court reported a fraudulent phone call.

11:20 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Sutton Way reported an assault.

1:55 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Colfax Avenue reported people loitering and panhandling. Extra patrols were requested.

4:11 p.m. — A caller form Mill and Neal streets reported a drug house.

6:54 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Race Street reported young people partying in the woods.

7:31 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Joyce Drive reported a man urinating behind a fence who then left on a bicycle.

9:25 a.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Bandolier Way reported a bear in the area breaking into homes.

9:33 a.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Manion Canyon Road reported a possible fraud via telephone.

9:39 a.m. — A caller reported a person in the 22000 block of Industrial Place was the victim of a fraudulent check cashed in Santa Fe Springs.

11:59 a.m. — A caller from the 19000 block of Connie Drive reported the theft of an XBox controller.

12:29 p.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Nubian Way reported a scam call.

1:06 p.m. — A caller from Lake Wildwood reported the theft of a disabled placard.

1:28 p.m. — A caller from the 18000 block of Angelina Way reported a warrant scam call.

4:02 p.m. — A man from the 11000 block of Reid Place reported finding spent fireworks on his property.

7:34 p.m. — A caller from Highway 20 and Pleasant Valley Road reported a man with a backpack, wearing blue jeans, approached a girl after she got off her bus.

11:22 p.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Jericho Road reported loud music.

8:31 a.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Zion Street reported a shoplifter in custody.

8:46 a.m. — A woman from the 200 block of Brock Road reported she had been robbed.

9:10 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Nile Street reported possible identity theft.

Friday

1:29 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Boulder Street reported a loud party.
