Police blotter: Suspicious vehicle call ends in arrest of two men

Grass Valley Police Department

Wednesday

8:03 a.m. — A caller from the 1900 block of Nevada City Highway reported a break-in to an outbuilding, with nothing stolen.



8:17 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Alta Street reported a vehicle with two men sleeping inside. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating probation, possessing drug paraphernalia and providing a false ID.

11:34 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Horizon Circle reported credit card fraud.




1 p.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported a person in a Lexus drinking from an open container; the driver could not be located.

2:52 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sierra College Drive reported a physical fight involving several people; they were gone when an officer arrived.

5:57 p.m. — A woman from the 100 block of Neal Street reported she had been assaulted and threatened with a knife; no injuries were found it was not clear if the report was founded.

6:58 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Freeman Lane reported three men with flashlights looking into vehicle windows. They could not be located.

9:51 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West Berryhill Drive reported vehicle tires had been slashed.

10 p.m. — A woman from the 200 block of Sutton Way reported her car had been broken into and items stolen, including a purse, possibly by two men.

11:38 p.m. — A woman from the 200 block of North Auburn Street reported possible drug activity with people watching her. Nothing suspicious was found. She was uncooperative and wanted help moving out of the hotel, which was declined. At 4:23 a.m., she reported being locked out of her room and being trapped on a side patio. She was advised to contact hotel management to get inside. At 5:54 a.m., she called and asked what oath officers take to become officers. She then refused to answer her door; management reported she had been disruptive during the night and other guests were complaining.

9:05 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Sycamore Court reported identity theft.

9:38 a.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Wolf Road reported an extremely emaciated cow. The cow appeared to be OK.

10:13 a.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Elderberry Lane reported an assault.

11:10 a.m. — A caller from McCourtney and Auburn roads reported a BMW passing over double yellow lines, on blind corners and at high rates of speed.

11:27 a.m. — A caller from Highway 49 and Alta Sierra Drive reported a vehicle versus motorcycle accident.

11:44 a.m. — A caller from the North San Juan post office reported a large tub of nail from several areas had been turned in.

11:50 a.m. — A caller from Pleasant Valley and Rices Crossing roads reported a vehicle burglary and vandalism to the vehicle.

11:52 a.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Patty Court reported a squatter who had set up a fence and a tarp; no one was located.

11:54 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Flume Street reported an assault and harassment.

12:22 p.m. — A caller from the 29000 block of Highway 49 reported a person screaming and trying to fight the caller.

1:27 p.m. — A caller from the 19000 block of Matthew Road reported a suspicious unoccupied truck with a water tank in the back and marijuana in the front seat. It had been stolen and the owner was contacted.

2:15 p.m. — A caller from Lyman Gilmore School reported a student assaulted a teacher; the situation was being handled by the school.

5:55 p.m. — A woman from the 18000 block of North Bloomfield-Graniteville Road reported a man threatened to kill her and stole her vehicle.

6:13 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Alta Sierra drive reported two vehicles with possible drug activity. One man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest; a second man was arrested and charged with evading an officer, resisting arrest and possessing drug paraphernalia.

6:27 p.m. — A caller from Garden Bar and Clayton roads reported vandalism to a group mailbox.

10:44 p.m. — A caller form the 13000 block of Mirage Court reported a residential burglary and vandalism.

Thursday

3:09 a.m. — A caller from Highway 49 and Carriage Road reported a man yelling for help; no one was located.

4:40 a.m. — A man from the 20000 block of Highway 49 reported he had been kidnapped and beaten up. He was drunk and uncooperative, and the neighbor said he had been there for several hours.

Thursday

1:27 a.m. — A caller from a business in the 200 block of Commercial Street reported two women attacking a man; they left before an officer arrived.
