Police Blotter: Stolen mermaids, smashed phones in ex-husband’s mailbox

Grass Valley Police Department

Thursday

7:10 a.m. — A caller on the 500 block of Butler Street reported people sleeping in a vehicle in front of her house for the last couple of weeks.



9:45 a.m. — A caller on the 100 block reported that a woman, whom the caller had allowed to stay at her home for a few days, had brought strange subjects around and that the guest’s boyfriend had assaulted and threatened the caller.

10:37 a.m. — A caller at a fast food establishment on the 1900 block of Nevada City Highway reported a transient had dumped an ashtray on the ground to find cigarettes and caused an altercation by not allowing customers through.




10:57 a.m. — A caller on the 400 block of West Main Street reported a burglary.

12:24 p.m. — A caller at a store on the 800 block of Sutton Way reported a theft.

1:41 p.m. — A caller on the 200 block of Sierra College Drive reported the theft of an iPod Touch.

1:43 p.m. — A caller at a business on the 600 block of Sutton Way reported the theft of personal information from a computer while it was being fixed.

3 p.m. — A caller on the 200 block of South Church street reported a burglary.

4:38 p.m. — A caller on the 600 block of Whiting Street reported that his ex-wife smashed the phone and placed it in his mailbox.

5:08 p.m. — A caller on the 300 block of Bennett Street reported a purse stolen from a locked vehicle.

5:22 p.m. — A caller reported juveniles and adults smoking marijuana in Memorial Park.

6:38 p.m. — A caller at a motel on the 600 block of South Auburn Street reported a person kicked a dog.

Thursday

8:39 a.m. — A caller on the 18700 block of Siesta Drive reported the theft of two 50-pound mermaid lawn ornaments from the caller’s front porch. The suspected culprit left a cigarette behind, the caller reported.

10:17 a.m. — A caller on Partridge Road reported his neighbor’s aggressive dogs damaged the caller’s goats.

1:21 p.m. — A caller on the 19000 block of Buck Ridge Road reported his front door was kicked in and his firearms were missing.

3:09 p.m. — A caller on the 15000 block of Chinook Lane reported the theft of a lawn mower.

5 p.m. — A caller on Red Dog Road reported a swerving big rig truck driving into oncoming traffic.

9:45 a.m. — A caller on Uren Street reported a dog caught in a pipe in a trench near the Old Bottle Works.

5:29 p.m. — A caller, who was not at her home on North Pine Street, requested officers drive by her house due to her neighbor calling his sister-in-law to advise that the caller was going to burn her own house down in the next hour and that she needed to be saved.
