Police blotter: Police fundraising scam reported

Grass Valley Police Department

Saturday (was not published Monday due to email issues)

10:30 a.m. — A man from Maltman Drive reported the theft of a planner from a vehicle.



11:46 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of East Main Street reported being assaulted.

1:09 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Sutton Way reported several shots were fired from a vehicle; nothing was located.




3:42 p.m. — A caller from Grey Avenue and LeDuc Street reported drug activity.

5:20 p.m. — A woman reported her siblings were threatening to shoot her because she inherited “Obama money.”

7:52 p.m. — A woman from the 300 block of Mill Street reported a man punched her in the face; he then was punching himself in the face to make it look like she punched him. He was arrested on suspicion of battery.

10:27 p.m. — A caller from the 800 block of East Main Street reported a person on the roof of a building; no one was located.

10:52 p.m. — A caller from Lucas Lane reported a woman just choked her.

Monday

9:41 a.m. — A woman from the 100 block of Eureka Street reported making a donation pledge to the California State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police she said she discovered it was a fraud, but they will not stop calling her.

10:17 a.m. — A man from the 200 block of Dorsey Drive reported he was “spinning.”

12:03 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of South Auburn Street reported a man yelling and screaming and refusing to leave after being escorted out of a motel room.

3:30 p.m. — A woman from the 600 block of Minnie Street reported a grandson hitting her vehicle with his skateboard.

3:45 p.m. — A caller reported a neighbor was using drugs.

5:11 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Highlands Court reported lots of foot traffic, possibly due to drugs. No one was located.

7:05 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Hill Street reported an Internet scam.

7:35 p.m. — A caller from a business on West Main Street reported counterfeit bills.

7:44 p.m. — A woman from West Main Street reported an 11-year-old boy throwing things at her.

9:15 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Neal Street reported a man who stole a bottle of alcohol two hours prior was in the parking lot. A man was arrested on suspicion of petty theft and being a minor in possession of alcohol.

10:06 p.m. — A man from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported a man in a black Escalade hit him in the parking lot. A BOLO was issued for aggravated assault.

Tuesday

3:09 a.m. — A caller from the 600 block of South Auburn Street reported two men trying to break into a motel room, tearing off a screen and yelling for a woman by name.

Monday

9:35 a.m. — A caller from Empress and Bitney Springs roads reported two neglected horses with no water that appeared malnourished, with bad hooves and eye infections.

10:03 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Andrew Court reported the theft of work tools and gasoline from a driveway.

11:21 a.m. — A caller reported fraud.

11:21 a.m. — A man from Varnell Place reported a man broke down a locked door and was throwing things.

12:22 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Allison Ranch Road reported finding a possibly full syringe.

1:01 p.m. — A caller from the 17000 block of Old Washington Road reported a person stole electronics from a residence.

1:17 p.m. — A caller from the 18000 block of Penn Valley Drive reported a gas theft.

3:02 p.m. — A caller from Squirrel Creek Road and Rough and Ready Highway reported a 6-year-old girl in a pink dress in the middle of the road, refusing to leave, going in and out of traffic.

4:09 p.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of John Bauer Avenue reported the theft of gas from a vehicle.

4:54 p.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Old Downieville Highway reported a damaged water main pipe.

5:35 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Pittsburg Road reported a residential burglary with $5,000 in cash, a gun and other items stolen.

5:58 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Wolf Road reported a man and a woman in a physical fight; they were gone when a deputy arrived.

6:23 p.m. — A caller from Purdon Crossing requested information regarding mining claims and trespassing.

6:41 p.m. — A caller from Pleasant Valley Road and Lake Wildwood Drive reported a motorcyclist driving at excessive speed, who tried to grab the arm of a bicyclist as he drove by.

8 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Flying T Road reported a vehicle crashed through a gate and the driver fled on foot.

Tuesday

1:01 a.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Clover Valley Road reported a loud party and a bonfire.

3:44 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Thunder Road reported a person yelling and screaming in the front yard; the person was going home.
