Police blotter: Naked men, theft of chewing tobacco and dentures

Grass Valley Police Department

Thursday

6:48 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sierra College Drive reported the theft of a vehicle last night. It was located in Rocklin near Sierra College.



8 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sierra College Drive reported items were taken from a vehicle including a pair of binoculars, a can of Copenhagen chewing tobacco, six CDs and a clinometer.

9:41 a.m. — A caller from a business in the 100 block of Joerschke Drive reported check fraud.




9:46 a.m. — A woman from the 300 block of North School Street reported the theft of two bikes.

1:32 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Mill Street reported a residential burglary with the suspect throwing things around outside.

1:59 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Ivy Street reported a possible vehicle burglary with a shattered window.

3:03 p.m. — A caller from the 1300 block of East Main Street reported a person possibly under the influence of drugs going through vehicles in a parking lot, who dropped some drug paraphernalia.

4:16 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of South Church Street reported a burglary to a vehicle.

4:16 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West Berryhill Drive reported a vehicle burglary.

8:22 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of East Main Street reported a man upset over not being allowed to park in a spot picked up a pole in a cement block and threw it into a fence and then into a man.

9:39 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Neal Street reported hearing there might be a shooting, with 50 to 80 gangster type people in the parking lot. Groups were cleared out of the area.

9:57 p.m. — A caller from Colfax Avenue and Ophir Street reported a very large crowd, possibly a fight going on. A second caller reported 20 to 30 juveniles. They were gone when officers arrived.

11:46 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Morgan Ranch Drive reported people in a vehicle throwing eggs.

Friday

12:48 a.m. — A caller from the 1900 block of Nevada City Highway reported a man in a dumpster screaming at people. He was advised not to trespass.

10:08 a.m. — A caller from Highway 49 and West McKnight Way reported a woman with a cast on her leg walking on the highway.

11:02 a.m. — A caller from the 20000 block of Nevada City Highway reported a man burning himself and pulling out teeth with pliers. No crime or medical need was found.

11:06 a.m. — A woman from the 100 block of West Berryhill Drive reported vandalism to a vehicle.

11:12 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Mill Street reported a woman stole earrings.

11:45 a.m. — Several callers from McCourtney Road and Brighton Street reported a trailer on fire.

1:15 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Idaho Maryland Road reported a person writing bad checks.

1:19 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Dorsey Drive reported a person refusing to return dentures, worth $1,500. The teeth were returned.

1:32 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Joerschke Drive reported a vehicle theft.

1:55 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported a shoplifter in custody.

4:40 p.m. — A caller from a business in the 1000 block of Plaza Drive reported a man left his computer as collateral for a meal, and drugs were found in the computer.

5:02 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Whiting Street reported a physical fight between a man and a woman; the man had left.

9:35 p.m. — A caller from the hospital reported an assault victim, who was uncooperative.

11:01 p.m. — A woman from the 100 block of Eureka Street reported her room had been burglarized twice. The first time a $1,000 check was stolen and the second time, her checkbook, cash, credit cards and wallet were taken.

11:41 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of South Auburn Street reported a group of people drinking and possibly doing drugs.

Saturday

1:47 a.m. — A caller from the hospital reported a very drunken woman ripped her IV out and left the hospital after being brought in by the CHP.

2:02 a.m. — A caller from Glenwood Road reported hearing six or seven gunshots. Nothing was located.

7:38 a.m. — A caller reported the theft of a cell phone.

11:40 a.m. — A caller from South School and Dalton streets reported a man for indecent exposure; he dropped his pants.

2:07 p.m. — A man from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported locating his stolen vehicle.

10:31 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Pleasant Street reported a loud argument and a thud. Another caller reported hearing a gunshot, and a third caller reported hearing an explosion. Nothing was located.

10:32 p.m. — A caller from Highway 174 and Memorial Park reported a very drunken man with a six-pack of beer walking on the road.

11:47 p.m. — A caller from Juan Way reported someone possibly throwing items into a back yard.

12:04 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of First Street reported a man banging on the windows and threatening the residents.

2:18 a.m. — A child abandonment case was taken in the 200 block of South Church Street.

11:51 a.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Greenpeace Lane reported a barn had been broken into with items missing.

12:53 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Roadrunner Drive reported the theft of items from a residence.

1:42 p.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Woodstock Drive reported vandalism to a fence.

1:46 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Lower Circle Drive reported the theft of a vehicle.

3:41 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Mystery Lane reported a pit bull chasing children and other animals.

4:10 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Big Blue Road reported the theft of one or two mailboxes.

4:46 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Highway 49 reported several encounters with an elderly naked man.

6:03 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Lark Street reported a fall victim was drunk and could not care for a toddler. She was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and being drunk in public.

8:08 p.m. — A man from the 13000 block of Quaker Hill Cross Road reported a dog was attacked by two pit bulls.

8:46 p.m. — A caller from the 22000 block of Industrial Place reported a naked man in the back seat of a vehicle, who was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.

10:01 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Pinewoods Road reported a loud party. A juvenile was arrested on unknown charges.

Saturday

6:32 a.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Noel Lane reported a man possibly in the bushes had been singing all night. He was given a ride.

3:31 p.m. — A caller from Auburn and Hidden Valley roads reported shooting.

3:31 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Madrone Springs West reported a trespasser with a loaded pistol and asked if California has a stand your ground law.

3:39 p.m. — A woman from the 15000 block of Maybert Road reported a man pushed her after she confronted him for trespassing.

3:47 p.m. — A caller from Lowell Hill Road reported trespassing.

6:48 p.m. — A caller from McCourtney Road and Polaris Drive reported a man possibly trying to break into mailboxes; no damage was found.

7:46 p.m. — A caller from Penn Valley Drive reported people shooting 50- to 60-round spurts of gunfire. Nothing was located.

8:17 p.m. — A caller from Bowman Lake Road reported shooting and a fire at a campsite.

9:48 p.m. — A man from the 10000 block of Combie Road reported he had broken into a store because he was trying to get away from a biker group who took his ID and were looking for him.

9:51 p.m. — A woman from the 10000 block of Spenceville Road reported shots and yelling; it was quiet when deputies arrived.

10 p.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Banner Lava Cap Road reported a gunshot.

10:26 p.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Washington Road reported a loud explosion.

10:30 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of You Bet Road reported a vehicle hit a fence.

10:36 p.m. — A caller from Allison Ranch Road and Carrington Lane reported a woman screaming; it was quiet when deputies arrived.

11:38 p.m. — A caller from the 31000 block of Relief Hill Road reported two loud explosions. Nothing was located.

Sunday

12:19 a.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Greenhorn Access Road reported people would not quiet down; all were advised.

1:21 a.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Hidden Hollow Place reported yelling, loud music and gunfire. A second call was made at 2:34 a.m. and it was determined this was in Placer County.

3:27 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Squirrel Creek Road reported a loud party.
