Police blotter: Man seeking mysterious dog named Lola

Grass Valley Police Department

Monday

8:12 a.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Sierra College Drive reported a burglary to a construction trailer. The stolen tools then were found on Craigslist.



8:44 a.m. — A caller from the hospital reported a burglary to the chaplain’s office.

1:21 p.m. — A caller from a business in the 800 block of Sutton Way reported receiving fake money. The customer was unaware a $10 bill was counterfeit and used another form of payment.




2:04 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Springhill Drive reported a transient camp.

3:37 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported a possible shoplifter. A man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

4:55 p.m. — A caller from Plaza Drive and Brunswick Road reported people camping and leaving garbage. No current camps found, just older campsites and a lot of garbage.

5:33 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of South Auburn Street reported a man put a laptop under his shirt and left on foot.

6:11 p.m. — A caller from the 200 bock of South Auburn Street reported the theft of a vehicle containing a purse.

7:50 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Neal Street reported a shoplifter. A man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and possessing drug paraphernalia.

9:43 p.m. — A caller from a business in the 100 block of Olympia Park Road reported a person threw a milkshake at an employee; there have been previous incidents with the same suspect.

Tuesday

1:33 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Dorsey Drive reported several walking around a building with flashlights. A person was admonished for prowling.

4:15 a.m. — A caller from the 2100 block of Nevada City Highway reported a woman at the door yelling for medical help, saying she hurt all over. A report was taken.

9:22 a.m. — A man from the 15000 block of Highway 20 reported an assault.

10:39 a.m. — A woman from the 13000 block of La Barr Meadows Road reported that a transient gave her daughter a dog that the family cannot keep.

11:41 a.m. — A caller from the 24000 block of Highway 49 reported a staff member assaulted another staff member.

12:34 p.m. — A caller from the 22000 block of Industrial Place reported fraud and identity theft.

1:19 p.m. — A man from the 10000 block of Rough and Ready Road reported his landlord broke down the door.

1:46 p.m. — A caller from Brewer Road and Lodestar Drive reported a very smoky fire on a no-burn day.

2:21 p.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Rough and Ready Highway reported trespassers on BLM land.

2:24 p.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Grass Valley Avenue reported the theft of several propane bottles from a travel trailer.

3:07 p.m. — A caller from Highway 49 reported drunken people in a fight. A drunken man reported he was lying outside and needed help.

4:49 p.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Idaho-Maryland Road reported the theft of mail.

7:50 p.m. — A man from the 14000 block of Idaho-Maryland Road reported a person just dumped a couch on private property.

9:55 p.m. — A caller from Jayhawk Drive reported a man hit a woman, who did not want to press charges.

11 p.m. — A woman from the 11000 block of Lime Kiln Road reported someone broke into a community mailbox and stole mail.

Tuesday

4:55 a.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Star Drive reported the theft of a truck.

7:45 a.m. — A caller from Lothlorien Lane reported a man in the courtyard of a residence, who said he was looking for his bichon named Lola. The caller said he contacted the residence the man said he was from and they said they used to have a bichon but that he died three years ago and was not named Lola.

Thursday

12 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Commercial Street reported an injured red hawk lying down.

7:44 p.m. — A caller from Old Downieville Highway and Wyoming Road reported seeing a vehicle fly into the air. The driver requested no report, she was waiting for a tow vehicle.

Friday

10:25 am. — A caller from Yuba River Charter School reported vandalism.

7:19 p.m. — A caller from Long and Adams streets reported two vehicles drag racing.

Saturday

4:25 p.m. — A caller from Highway 20 and Broad Street reported a jackknifed truck and trailer.

8:26 p.m. — A caller from Sugarloaf Mountain reported multiple trespassers; no one was located.

Sunday

10:17 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Commercial Street reported a large crowd outside, getting rowdy, possibly about to fight.

Monday

10:04 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Nursery Street reported possible trespassers in a vacant residence; no one was located.
