Grass Valley Police Department


1:48 a.m. – A man was pulled over on the 300 block of Pleasant Street, arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked at the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility. His vehicle was towed.

11:17 a.m. – A caller from a business on the 100 block of Bank Street reported transients hanging out behind the establishment. They were gone when officers arrived.

12:35 p.m. – The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office called requesting the city respond to a woman who had set a trap for a feral cat and instead caught a skunk.

1:32 p.m. – A caller from the 200 block of Barby Drive reported her ex-husband assaulted her. Responding officers took a report.

1:57 p.m. – A small dog was observed barking in a car with the windows rolled up in the heat on the 100 block of Neal Street. Animal control was advised.

2:33 p.m. – A noninjury accident was reported on Brighton Street at the Highway 20 overpass.

2:35 p.m. – A caller from the 100 block of West Berryhill Drive reported he saw a woman assaulting a man. Responding officers arrested the women on suspicion of injuring a spouse or cohabitant and booked her at the county jail. The assaulted man refused medical treatment.

2:52 p.m. – A caller from East Main Street reported seeing a person drive off from a filling station with the gas hose still attached.

4:24 p.m. – A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and a probation violation after rolling his vehicle on French Avenue.

6:52 p.m. – A person came into a business on the 600 block of Freeman Lane to retrieve a missing wallet that someone had found and returned.

7:45 p.m. – A business on the 400 block of South Auburn Street reported a fight between two females. Responding officers did not find the women but took a report.

8:45 p.m. – A downtown business called to say two juvenile girls had been advised to not lay down on the tables in the establishment.

10:34 p.m. – A juvenile and his parents were counseled at the corner of Colfax Avenue and Park Street regarding curfew.


12:32 a.m. – A caller from a business in the 200 block of Colfax Avenue reported a person was yelling threats at her. Responding officers could not locate the man.

1:36 a.m. – A traffic stop at South Church Street and West Main Street resulted in the arrest of a man on a local outstanding warrant.

2:48 a.m. – Loud music with a bass drum was reported from the 100 block of Berryhill Drive. Responding officers found a toddler making the disturbance.

5:48 a.m. – A person flagged down an officer at West Main Street and Alta Street and reported there was a pellet gun in the roadway.

9:44 p.m. – Officers arrested a 39-year-old man at a business in Penn Valley for drunken driving and booked him into the Nevada County jail.

2:38 p.m. – A caller from the 14000 block of Wolf Mountain Road reported finding a bag containing three firearms, one of which was loaded.

4:52 p.m. – A woman came to the Rood Center to report the theft of money from her house. She said she was suspecting a family friend.

6:44 p.m. – A man called from the 16000 block of Jon Eric Court saying he was upset that officers hadn’t been able to capture the person who makes odd noises at night and keeps him awake. The man said he was suspecting his neighbors but didn’t want to give out a name. The man also said he thought his neighbors had something to do with a deer that had impaled itself on his fence. The man wanted to know the options on how to remove the carcass. He requested extra patrol during the evening.

8:18 p.m. – A man from the 11000 block of Brunswick Pines Road requested help with his 22-year-old mentally disabled son. The man said his son was out of control and had just destroyed the refrigerator. His son was now in his bedroom, the man said.

10:02 p.m. – A caller from the 15000 block of Highway 49 reported an assault between two juveniles around 9 p.m.


12:41 a.m. – A woman from the 16000 block of Auburn Road reporting seeing a figure stand outside her residence. She said she could also hear someone in the storage room under the house.

5:36 a.m. – A woman from the 11000 block of Ridge Road reported receiving a call the night before from a man saying that someone by the name of “Roger” was coming to kill her. The woman said she slept in her vehicle all night and was afraid to go home.

12:01 p.m. – A caller from the 400 block of Nimrod Street reported several people drinking and doing drugs near the creek in Pioneer Park.

12:47 p.m. – A woman from the 500 block of Nevada Street reported having trapped a skunk. She said she’d set the trap for feral cats.

8:46 p.m. – A woman from the 200 block of Robin Street reported receiving death threats from an unknown person.
