Police blotter: Fights, thefts reported during fair

Friday

8:31 a.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Old Tunnel Road reported the theft of medications from an apartment.



10:25 a.m. — A caller from the hospital reported a man who had been bitten by a rattlesnake drove backward up the ramp to the ER and kicked a nurse. He was cited on unknown charges.

11:04 a.m. — A caller from Highway 20 and West Empire Street reported a man got out of his vehicle and hit the driver of a work truck in the face, then got back in his vehicle and drove away.




12:26 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Bank Street reported a man in a red face mask and a blue hoodie was prowling around a hotel. He could not be located. He then came back at 3:18 p.m.

1:17 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Colfax Avenue reported a fountain and plans had been damaged.

1:57 p.m. — A caller from a business in the 800 block of Sutton Way reported the mother of a 19-year-old customer was causing a disturbance because she was upset with her daughter’s tattoo.

3:18 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sierra College Drive reported the theft of water, first aid kits and other items.

4 p.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported a woman almost hit several people and appeared to be trying to drive up on the sidewalk.

4:07 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Neal Street reported a shoplifter took a handheld stereo. A man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and possessing stolen property.

5:45 p.m. — A caller from Highway 20 and Mill Street reported hearing a gunshot.

5:47 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported finding a bag of drugs, possibly meth.

10:20 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Arcadia Drive reported a possible drug deal in progress.

Saturday

12:11 a.m. — A caller from Mill and Neal streets reported a fight involving a man and a woman, with the man picking up the woman by the throat. He was arrested on suspicion of battery on a spouse and violating probation.

1:27 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Mill Street reported a drunken man fell and hit his head; another caller reported he hit a woman. Another caller then reported he was struggling with an officer. He was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and carrying a concealed dagger.

3:45 a.m. — A caller from the hospital reported a violent person punching the walls, who then went “night night.”

7:23 a.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Freeman Lane reported two men and a woman stole a cart of merchandise. A man was arrested on suspicion of petty theft, possessing stolen property and violating probation. The property was returned to the store.

12:27 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Freeman Lane reported a drunken man with a walking stick knocking over items. He was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.

3:30 p.m. — A caller from Memorial Park reported a man assaulted a woman. The suspects were removed from the park for 72 hours.

6:10 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Kendall Street reported multiple people in a physical fight; it was mutual combat.

8:31 p.m. — A caller from a business in the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported the theft of alcohol.

10:30 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Ophir Street reported people entering a vacant apartment through a window and doing drugs.

11:08 p.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Old Tunnel Road reported a person setting off a car alarm.

11:58 p.m. — A caller from South Church and Walsh streets reported a man and a woman in a fight; he had her in a headlock. They could not be located.

2:55 a.m. — A caller from Rockwood Drive reported two men and a woman trying to get into vehicles. No one was located.

4:31 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported two men on bicycles near vehicles; they were moving on.

10:22 a.m. — A caller from the 22000 block of Jennifer Drive reported finding a needle.

10:31 a.m. — A caller reported the theft of a gift card, Social Security card and cellphone.

11:44 a.m. — A caller from the 22000 block of Montclaire Court reported finding a possible explosive device and detonator cords in a yard.

12:12 p.m. — A caller from West Gateway Park reported the theft of a frisbee golf bag, 18 discs and cash.

7:32 p.m. — A caller from the fair reported a large group of juveniles fighting.

8:10 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Lode Line Way reported drug deals.

9:11 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Two Sisters Lane reported an embezzled vehicle.

9:40 p.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Lodestar Lane reported a woman screaming, who could not be located.

9:59 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Red Lane reported a physical fight involving a man and a woman. A person was arrested on unknown charges.

11:10 p.m. — A caller from the fair reported an injury,possibly at the monster trucks.

11:26 p.m. — A caller from the fair reported road rage, which was mediated.

11:28 p.m. — A caller from the fair reported a stolen purse.

11:59 p.m. — A caller from the fair reported the theft of a purse and two iPhones.

12:42 a.m. — A caller from Badger Hill Diggins reported hearing about 50 gunshots.

1:41 a.m. — A caller from Grizzly Hill reported a possible fire; nothing was located.

8:16 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Rattlesnake Road reported receiving a scam call.

8:35 a.m. — A caller from Ballantree and Traighli lanes reported a fight, with a man reported having been jumped with the suspects leaving in a vehicle. A report was taken.

10:27 a.m. — A caller from the 25000 block of Troy Road reported a pot belly pig refusing to leave, which was taken to the animal shelter.

10:33 a.m. — A caller from the fair reported a theft from a booth.

10:58 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Wolf Road reported vehicle tires had been popped and a bucket had been urinated in.

11:17 a.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Lakewood Drive reported items stolen from a vehicle trunk.

11:42 a.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Boquest Drive reported an intruder on the property last night.

1:55 p.m. — A caller from the 19000 block of Penn Valley Drive reported a blown transformer causing a grass fire.

2:03 p.m. — A caller from the fair reported a cash box might have been taken by a man on a bike.

2:20 p.m. — A caller from Jasper Lane and Allison Ranch Road reported a stolen vehicle.

2:47 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Pekolee Drive reported boys throwing rocks, who were admonished.

3:45 p.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Greenhorn Access Road reported a man had been assaulted; no charges were desired.

3:53 p.m. — A caller from the fair reported a victim hit by a basketball.

4:51 p.m. — Sixteen vehicles were cited at Edwards Crossing.

7:16 p.m. — A caller from the 19000 block of Ansonia Court reported a loud explosion and a garage on fire.

8:55 p.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Cement Hill Road reported an attempted burglary to a storage shed; extra patrols were requested.

9:10 p.m. — A caller from Cliffs Place and McCourtney Road reported men siphoning gas out of a Jeep; no evidence of gas theft was found.

10:35 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Highway 174 reported several downed motorcycles.

11:39 p.m. — A caller form the 10000 block of Bragg Avenue reported men throwing beer cans in a yard, being loud and belligerent. They party dispersed.

Sunday

12:34 a.m. — A man reported a woman missing from the fair, who was later located extremely drunk in Grass Valley.

12:45 a.m. — A person who had been reported missing from the fair was located running down the highway and was reunited with family.

1:04 a.m. — A caller from the 26000 block of Table Meadows Road reported six vehicles driving up and down driveways, with loud music blaring, looking fro a party. They were leaving.

2:09 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Shady Lane reported a woman trying to get into a residence; she was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

6:46 a.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Golden Star Road reported a man breaking things, screaming and banging on walls and doors. He was gone when a deputy arrived.

4:25 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Walrath Avenue reported a man who was drunk or high broke into a residence and tried to steal a vehicle. He was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.
