Grass Valley Police Department

Friday

1:13 p.m. – A woman from the 800 block of Old Tunnel Road reported items were missing from her apartment and someone may have come in and moved items around to scare her.



1:50 p.m. – A caller from the 200 block of Dorsey Drive reported a suspicious man pounding on the door. Police contacted management, who said the man was allowed on the property.

2:31 p.m. – A caller from the Condon Park parking lot reported a Jeep had struck the caller’s parked vehicle and then left.




3:05 p.m. – A man reported his checkbook was stolen from the transient camp behind a grocery store on Sutton Way and now his checks were being used fraudulently.

3:35 p.m. – A caller reported a group of loiterers with a guitar were in front of a restaurant on the 100 block of Mill Street. Police contacted them and the loiterers said they would move along.

3:38 p.m. – A caller reported someone had broken into the Elks Lodge marquee on South School Street and spelled profanities with the letters. Police determined there was no vandalism.

8:53 p.m. – A caller reported a man lying motionless on the sidewalk at Brighton Street near Butler Street. Police arrested the man on suspicion of public intoxication.

9:16 p.m. – Police contacted two people on suspicion of vandalism at the 100 block of West Main Street. The two had been using chalk and were cleaning it up.

10:05 p.m. – A woman from the 300 block of Bennett Street reported her boyfriend took her money and car and was possibly on his way to a friend’s house.

Saturday

12:16 a.m. – A caller from the 100 block of Ophir Street reported a possibly drunk man screaming and yelling. Police contacted the man.

12:31 a.m. – A woman from the 500 block of Doris Drive reported people were yelling along the street. Police arrested one woman on suspicion of public intoxication.

1:28 a.m. – A caller from the 400 block of West Main Street reported his friend tried to attack him. Police were unable to locate the man.

3:53 a.m. – A caller from a store on the 1000 block of Sutton Way reported a suspicious man opening and testing products. Police were unable to locate the man.

5:07 a.m. – A caller from the 200 block of Sutton Way reported yelling between several men. A man was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

10:41 a.m. – A woman from the 300 block of Bennett reported the theft of a vehicle by her husband.

4:42 p.m. – A caller from a restaurant on West McKnight Way reported two people were refusing to pay. Police contacted them and mediated the situation.

5:06 p.m. – A caller from the 600 block of Sutton Way reported a woman was picketing in front of a store and harassing customers.

8:03 p.m. – A caller from the 100 block of Dorsey Drive reported a man jumped out of the bushes with a hoodie pulled over his head and started following an employee. Police were unable to locate the man.

9:05 p.m. – A caller from South Auburn Street at Mohawk Street reported a dispute going on between locals and people from Sacramento. Police arrested two people at the scene.

10 p.m. – A caller reported seeing a person detonate something on Ridge Road at Sierra College and run toward Morgan Ranch. Police made contact with the parents, who picked up the juveniles.

11:30 p.m. – A caller from a building on the 200 block of South Auburn Street reported people driving a truck erratically in the parking lot. Police made contact with the people and cleared the parking lot.

11:47 p.m. – A woman reported a driver in a black SUV had hit her vehicle, then left the scene. The caller was following the vehicle and said she would file a report later.

Sunday

12:23 a.m. – A caller reported several vehicles were making donuts in a parking lot on Neal Street. Police were unable to catch the suspected vehicles.

4:05 a.m. – A caller reported a man had entered a convenience store on the 100 block of South Auburn, saying he had been assaulted at a party and needed medical attention. A friend took him to the emergency room.

Nevada County Sheriff’s Office

8:21 a.m. – A woman from the 10000 block of Braemar Way reported her ex-boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend was threatening her via messages online.

8:47 a.m. – A caller from the 10000 block of Combie Road reported two people were skateboarding in front of a business and refused to leave.

9:52 a.m. – A caller from the 10000 block of Dow Road reported hearing shots fired, then a man screaming. Deputies contacted the man and no weapons were found.

11:19 a.m. – A caller from the 12000 block of Loma Rica Drive reported a verbal disturbance in the business.

12:11 p.m. – A caller from the 14000 block of Penn Road reported a road rage incident in which a man was parked in front of another man’s gate and wouldn’t let him leave. The situation was mediated.

3:55 p.m. – A caller from the 16000 block of Banner Quaker Hill Road reported his neighbor cut down one of his trees.

4:31 p.m. – A woman from the 10000 block of Barde Court reported online threats. She said she was an administrator of an online cribbage site and had to remove a user from the site for inappropriate behavior and has since been receiving threatening e-mails from him.

6:20 p.m. – A woman from the 10000 block of Owl Road reported her grandson entered her residence, caused an argument with her husband and vandalized the residence and fence. The juvenile was arrested.

9:19 p.m. – A caller from Rogue House Place near Dog Bar Road reported a juvenile neighbor was shooting a firearm in his backyard.

10:14 p.m. – A caller from John Bauer Avenue and Loma Rica Drive reported someone had been setting off bottle rockets nearby. Deputies were unable to locate a suspect.

10:19 p.m. – A caller from Chestnut Court reported two boys were trying to break into a neighboring residence. The caller later determined the boys were the new renters of a vacation home.

Saturday

4:06 a.m. – A caller from the 100 block of Lark Street reported a drunk man was sleeping on the porch of a residence. The caller later reported the homeowner had let the man inside.

8:31 a.m. – A man from the 15000 block of Dry Creek Lane reported people broke into his vehicle and stole several items during the night.

12:40 p.m. – A caller from Squirrel Creek Road and South Ponderosa Way reported finding a dead man in a vehicle. Deputies determined the man was not dead.

9:38 p.m. – A caller reported a woman in an electric wheelchair on Lower Colfax Road and East Brookview Drive was in the roadway screaming, possibly for a dog. She was advised to stay home.

10:30 p.m. – A caller from Pleasant Valley Road and Black Forest Road reported a resident had hit a deer and the deer needed to be killed due to serious injuries.

Sunday

1:19 a.m. – Deputies responded to a vehicle on its side on the Highway 20 ramp near Mill Street. The driver was walking around.

Saturday

1:41 a.m. – A caller from the 200 block of Broad Street reported a man was threatening to kill him. A man was arrested on suspicion of a hate crime.

8:52 a.m. – A caller from a school on the 400 block of Searls Avenue reported new graffiti on a retaining wall.

7:21 p.m. – A caller from the 700 block of Nevada Street reported a woman at the bar appeared to be extremely drunk and kept falling asleep. Police escorted the patron home.
