Police blotter: Craigslist, grandchild in prison scams reported

Grass Valley Police Department

Tuesday

9:04 a.m. — A caller from Dow Alexander Park reported people smoking dope by the playground.



10:58 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Mill Street reported ongoing transient issues, with people bringing in a mattress and dumping trash every night.

1:31 p.m. — A woman from the 100 block of East Main Street reported a purse and cell phone were stolen from a parked vehicle.




2:01 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Eskaton Circle reported vehicles had been gone through, and requested extra patrols.

2:32 p.m. — A woman reported an ongoing issue with a man driving drunk with children in the vehicle.

3:47 p.m. — A caller from the 900 block of Plaza Drive reported a drunken driver. A woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, and another woman was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.

7:13 p.m. — A caller from Dow Alexander Park reported a large groups of transients fighting. A person was cited on suspicion of having alcohol.

7:20 p.m. — A caller from Memorial Park reported two drunken men yelling and throwing items at passing vehicles.

8:29 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Bank Street reported two men and a woman possibly engaged in a sex act in the parking lot; no one was located.

9:05 p.m. — A caller from a business in the 800 block of Sutton Way reported a shoplifter, who was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting.

10:28 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of South Auburn Street reported a screaming woman, who could not be located.

12:05 a.m. — A caller from Fowler Center reported two people looking into business windows; they were told to move on.

2:23 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sutton Way reported three people looking into a vehicle; they could not be located.

5:17 a.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Freeman Lane reported two men on bikes casing vehicles.

Tuesday

8 a.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Pine Peak Road reported a stolen trailer had been returned with the license plate missing.

10:28 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Rough and Ready Highway reported a house on fire.

11:23 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Oak Drive reported a man violating a restraining order. Another man had him a headlock and they were punching each other. The person also brought a stolen bicycle over. A report was taken.

12:03 p.m. — A caller from Long Valley and Logan Hills roads reported approximately 100 gunshots from high-powered semi-automatic rifles. At 1:18 p.m., a caller reported bullets flying through their yard.

12:52 p.m. — A caller from the 23000 block of Star Court reported a scam call about a granddaughter in prison who needed money.

1:14 p.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Cascade Loop reported a dog chasing runners and bicyclists; the owner was admonished.

1:31 p.m. — A caller from Beyers Lane reported a fawn stuck in a fence for two days.

2:44 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Idaho-Maryland Road reported the theft or misuse of a credit card.

3:03 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Norager Way reported a Craigslist scam with a residence being posted.

4:02 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Bloomfield-Graniteville Road reported identity theft.

5:16 p.m. — A caller from Western Gateway Park reported a van doing 180s on the baseball field; nothing was located.

7:03 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Dog Bar Road reported a vehicle rollover.

9:18 p.m. — A caller from the 17000 block of Lake Vera-Purdon Road reported someone possibly throwing firecrackers out the windows of a moving vehicle; nothing was located.

9:29 p.m. — A man from Sadie D Drive reported a woman hit him in the face. A man was arrested on suspicion of battery on a spouse and violating a restraining order.

11:05 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Magnolia Road reported the theft of an electric wheelchair.

Wednesday

6:59 a.m. — A caller from Dog Bar and Wheeler Cross roads reported a fawn stuck in barbed wire, which could not be located.

7:11 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Manzanita Drive reported identity theft.

Tuesday

2:59 p.m. — A man from Commercial Street reported that when he confronted a supervisor at the business about her trash-talking employees and stressing customers out, she shoved him into a door three times.

Wednesday

7:16 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Sacramento Street reported a woman offering sexual favors in payment for a ride; she was moving on.
