Police blotter: Callers report loose goose, break-in bear

Grass Valley Police Department

Tuesday

7:21 a.m. — A caller from Ridge and Slate Creek roads reported a two-vehicle accident with one vehicle overturned.



9:37 a.m. — A caller from Freeman Lane and Mill Street reported a goose walking in the middle of the intersection; it was taken to the animal shelter.

10:06 a.m. — A caller from the 1000 block of Sutton Way reported a man hiding in the women’s restroom for 45 minutes; he was moving on.




1:36 p.m. — A caller from the 1200 block of Sutton Way reported a work check had been forged and cashed at a bank.

2:24 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Henderson Street reported vandalism.

2:31 p.m. — A caller from Tinloy and Bank streets reported a physical fight; one person was gone when an officer arrived and the other did not want to press charges.

2:45 p.m. — A caller from a business in the 400 block of Sierra College Drive reported a patient inappropriately touched an employee; a report was taken.

3:12 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Colfax Avenue reported vandalism to a building.

3:26 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Brunswick Drive reported the theft of a vehicle, which subsequently was towed from an arrest.

5:22 p.m. — A caller from a business in the 100 block of Mill Street reported a man stole a bag of popcorn and ran out. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property and drug paraphernalia, and a warrant.

9:11 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Cambridge Court reported a burglary to a locked vehicle.

12:17 a.m. — A caller from Le Duc and Whiting streets reported hearing three gunshots.

9:25 a.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Highway 174 reported ongoing mail theft.

10:06 a.m. — A caller from Empire Street reported a box of bees fell from a passing truck onto the road. It was picked up by a tree service.

10:34 a.m. — A caller from Robin Street reported a vehicle was keyed and an unknown substance was put in the gas tank.

11:23 a.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Wilson Road reported two dogs killed a chicken.

11:33 a.m. — A caller from the 18000 block of Cooper Road reported a bear trying to break into a residence, which had broken through the glass of the front door.

1:23 p.m. — A caller reported a person was injured in a domestic violence incident and was going to the hospital.

3:04 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Hatchet Creek Road reported an out of control fire.

3:22 p.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Banner Lava Cap Road reported the theft of a Yes on W sign.

12:41 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Commercial Street reported a person sitting on the sidewalk, drinking what appeared to be vodka.

3:15 p.m. — A caller from Grove Street reported a residential burglary.

10:25 p.m. — A caller from East Broad and Main streets reported a possible stolen vehicle.
