Police blotter: Aug. 29, 2008

Grass Valley Police Department

Wednesday

12:19 p.m. – A business on Brunswick Road reported a man just drove away from a gas pump and broke off the hose doing so. Officers found the driver and filed a report.



1:23 p.m. – A person brought some eyeglasses and money into the police station that they had found.

2:52 p.m. – A caller requested medical aid for a child with a broken arm on the 300 block of South School Street.




3:31 p.m. – An out-of-control woman was reported at Church and Neal streets. Officers contacted the woman, and then cited and released her on suspicion of possession of marijuana.

3:56 p.m. – A pedestrian flagged down an officer on South Auburn Street and reported a possible assault on a juvenile.

4:18 p.m. – A two-car wreck on the 600 block of Sutton Way produced no injuries, but officers took a report.

5:30 p.m. -A caller from the 500 block of Whiting Street reported someone had stolen the registration stickers from her license plate. Officers took a report for petty theft.

7:06 p.m. – A wallet with a credit card in it was found on a Nevada City Highway parking lot. The owner did not return a phone call and officers will follow up.

8:05 p.m. – Officers told two young men on the city hall parking lot to quit making strange noises at law enforcement.

9:12 p.m. – A large, dead rattlesnake was reported in the gutter on Brighton Street and was picked up by officers.

10:34 p.m. – A caller reported a fire on the 100 block of Dorsey Drive. Responding firefighters found a man barbecuing.

Thursday

12:35 a.m. – A caller reported a woman was screaming at the corner of Brunswick Road and the Golden Center Freeway. Officers were unable to locate her.

1:28 a.m. – A vehicle was repossessed on the 300 block of Mill Street.

1:53 a.m. – A loud party was reported on the 400 block of West Main Street. Officers persuaded the residents to keep it down and go inside for the night.

Wednesday

11:19 a.m. – A caller from the 11000 block of Alta Vista Avenue reported finding a wallet with drugs in it.

11:21 a.m. – A caller from the 12000 block of Loma Rica Drive reported a possible theft of items.

11:48 a.m. – A caller from Aileen Way reported an injured deer in the road.

2:00 p.m. – A caller from the 12000 block of Lakeshore North reported a burglary at the caller’s residence.

3:08 p.m. – Officers arrested a 45-year-old man from the 12000 block of La Barr Meadows Road on suspicion of possessing drugs for sale, transporting drugs and being under its influence and booked him into the Nevada County jail.

3:55 p.m. – A caller from the 12000 block of Thunder Road reported a theft.

4:47 p.m. – A caller from the intersection of La Barr Meadows Road and Dog Bar Road reported an altercation between a manager and customers.

6:49 p.m. – A woman from the 15000 block of Airport Road reported her children were walking toward the airport two nights ago and found burning papers, some disturbing documents and empty vodka bottles. The woman said she had some of the documents.

11:29 p.m. – A woman from the 13000 block of St. Ledger Forest Road reported being assaulted by her boyfriend. Officers arrested the 21-year-old man on suspicion of inflicting injury on a spouse or a cohabitant and booked him into the Nevada County jail.
