Police blotter: Aug. 27, 2008

Grass Valley Police Department

Monday

1:39 p.m. – A person in the lobby of the police department reported drug activity in the skating area of Condon Park.



1:41 p.m. – A caller from the 100 block of Bawden Avenue reported the home was broken into over the weekend and wanted extra patrol in the area.

2:19 p.m. – A caller from the 100 block of Conaway Ave. reported an intoxicated man at the door. Responding officers arrested the man on suspicion of being drunk in public.




2:51 p.m. – A business on the 300 block of Railroad Avenue reported a rented ladder was not returned.

3:19 p.m. – A caller said a vehicle was traveling north on the Golden Center Freeway at 90 mph, was cutting vehicles off and ran a stop sign at the South Auburn exit. Patrolling officers were advised.

5:02 p.m. – A caller from the 100 block of Lidster Avenue reported a youth was stealing from her parents. The caller was advised to tell the juvenile’s probation officer.

6:59 p.m. – A caller reported a man and woman fighting in the middle of Empire Street. Responding officers seized all firearms from the residence, and a report was taken for violation of a restraining order.

7:49 p.m. – A caller from the 500 block of Auburn Street said her ex-mate is text messaging her and saying he is going to harm her new boyfriend and kill her. Both parties were contacted by officers and advised of the restraining order process.

7:59 p.m. – A caller reported a man at Memorial Park was so drunk he had to hold onto walls to walk. Officers extensively searched the area and could not find the man.

8:13 p.m. – A caller reported an unwanted and very drunk woman was at a residence on the 100 block of Park Avenue. Responding officers arrested her on suspicion of falsely misrepresenting herself to a police officer, battery of a spouse or cohabitant, violating a court order, being drunk in public and booked her into the Nevada County jail.

8:19 p.m. – A woman ran into a business on the 100 block of South Auburn Street yelling profanities. Officers contacted the woman, arrested her on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked her into jail.

9:36 p.m. – A person brought a lost dog into the police department. While they were there, the dog’s owner arrived to claim it.

Tuesday

12:58 a.m. – A traffic stop at Richardson and South Auburn streets resulted in a man being arrested on suspicion of driving on a suspended or revoked license, and he was booked into jail. His vehicle was released to his brother.

7:19 a.m. – Vandalism was reported to a car parked on Freeman Lane.

8:47 a.m. – A caller from the 200 block of Richardson Street reported the theft of a CD player and speakers from his vehicle.

10 a.m. – A caller reported a man was smoking marijuana in a pipe in front of a business on the 200 block of Auburn Street.

Monday

9:18 a.m. – A caller from Tyler Foote Crossing Road reported being assaulted the day before.

9:39 a.m. – A man from the 15000 block of Carrie Drive reported not being able to reach his mother via phone. He said his mother sounded disoriented and confused the night before. He requested a welfare check on her.

1:49 p.m. – A caller from the 12000 block of Butterfly Drive reported the theft of recycled items from the driveway.

3:39 p.m. – A woman from the 12000 block of Paddock Lane reported the theft of two firearms from her husband’s vehicle last week. She said her husband will call after 5 p.m. with more information.

4:04 p.m. – A woman from the 17000 block of Oak Hollow Circle reported that her 14-year-old grandson had run away.

6:13 p.m. – A person from the 11000 block of Slow Poke Lane reported two runaways. The missing people were last seen at 6 p.m. on Bennett Street near the Idaho-Maryland Mine Entrance.

8:06 p.m. – A caller from Pleasant Valley Road reported a man wearing black shorts and a black shirt jumping in front of the traffic. The caller said the man possibly h ad been hit by a vehicle.

Tuesday

7:37 a.m. – A woman called from Sacramento to report her boyfriend was released from the county jail at 5 p.m. Monday but hadn’t shown up in Vallejo where he was expected to be.

Monday

9:28 a.m. – A man from the 300 block of Clay Street reported theft of solar lights from his yard.

12:31 p.m. – A caller from the 700 block of Zion Street reported a shoplifter in the office.
