Police blotter: Aug. 20, 2008
Grass Valley Police Department
1:15 p.m. – A caller from a business on East Main Street reported a possible drunken driver.
2:18 p.m. – A caller from the 400 block of Henderson Street reported juveniles were in a public bathroom doing drugs. The youths were gone when officers arrived.
3:41 p.m. – A caller from the 300 block of Pleasant Street wanted contact with an officer about an argument that occurred earlier in the day during which a woman hit herself with a phone. A responding officer found the caller was intoxicated.
4:55 p.m. – A caller from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported a dog was locked in a vehicle in a parking lot in the heat. The vehicle was gone when officers arrived.
5:21 p.m. – A business on the 100 block of Olympia Park Circle reported a person passed out on the floor. Medical personnel arrived and took the person to the emergency room at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.
5:33 p.m. – A physical fight was reported outside a business on the 100 block of Mill Street, resulting in one man being bloodied. Officers responded and the injured man took a taxi home.
6:31 p.m. – A business on the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported a customer called in a fraudulent drug prescription. The information was turned over to investigators.
6:34 p.m. – A two-car crash at the corner of South Auburn Street and Mainhart Drive resulted in no injuries but one vehicle had to be towed away.
6:57 p.m. – A juvenile who was being cited and released on suspicion of theft of retail merchandise from a business on the 100 block of Neal Street allegedly tried to run away. The juvenile was arrested and booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of theft from the business, making a threat while trespassing and making a threat of violence after a conviction for the same thing.
12:34 a.m. – A caller from the 100 block of Arden Court reported hearing motorcycles and women screaming from far away. Officers made an extensive area check but found no people or motorcycles.
12:51 a.m. – A patrol officer noticed a home on the 100 block of Castlemont Drive with all the doors open. The officer learned it was the homeowner trying to air out the house.
1:21 a.m. – An alarm went off at a business on the 12000 block of Nevada City Highway. Officers took a burglary report.
1:52 a.m. – A youth walked into the lobby at the police department and said he had just been beaten up on East Main Street. The boy did not want to press charges and was transported to the emergency room at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.
8:46 a.m. – A caller reported a suspicious man under the overpass on South Auburn Street watching school children. A responding officer told the man to move on.
Nevada County Sheriff’s Office
8:11 a.m. – A man from the 12000 block of Falling Leaf Lane reported an injured deer in his back yard.
12:10 p.m. – A man from 12000 block of Pine Cone Court reported hearing multiple shots. He said he’d like sheriff’s deputies to ensure the shots were being fired in a safe manner.
2:22 p.m. – A man from the 16000 block of Maybert Road reported a vehicle and trespassers on his property.
5:29 p.m. – A caller from the 11000 block of Cedar Springs Road reported a boy who was out of control and on house arrest. The juvenile was banging on windows and could be heard on the phone. Officers contacted the youth and decided to let him stay at home.
6:57 p.m. – A woman from the 17000 block of Misty Dawn Lane reported that she was in a verbal argument with her husband, who grabbed her throat. The woman said her husband was at home and everything was all right.
7:09 p.m. – A woman from the 11000 block of Rough and Ready Highway reported her daughter as a runaway. She said her daughter was last seen at 6 p.m.
12:56 a.m. – A caller from Tranquility Lane reported hearing multiple shots near the airport.
3:19 a.m. – A caller from the 10000 block of Wild Turkey Lane reported a verbal argument between an inebriated man and a woman.
Nevada City Police Department
9:27 a.m. – A man came to the Nevada City Police Department and reported an assault that occurred July 13. The man said his jaw was broken in four places and that he had X-ray reports to prove it.
4:13 p.m. – Officers arrested a youth on the 200 block of Church Street on a domestic restraining order. A message was delivered to juvenile hall.
